Dr. Pete Kvarnstrom—fondly known as Dr. K—brings decades of veterinary experience and a lifelong passion for animals to our clinic. Raised in rural coastal California, he studied Animal Science at UC Davis and later earned his DVM from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.
Originally drawn to large animal medicine, Dr. K’s path shifted after meeting his future wife, leading him into small animal practice. He managed his own hospital in Orange County before joining the U.S. Army Reserves in 2020, where he served as a field veterinarian caring for military working dogs and supporting food safety missions overseas.
Now rooted in the Texas Hill Country, Dr. K lives on a Fredericksburg ranch with his wife Stacy, their two college-aged kids, and their dog, Buddy Snuggles.
Dr. Braxton Norris was born in East Texas, but spent most of his childhood and teen years growing up in Cypress, Texas. It was there spending time on his family property taking care of pet horses, dogs, cats, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, and even hermit crabs, where his excitement and passion for animals grew.
Dr. Norris attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Animal Science and a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences. He ultimately traveled to California where he graduated from Western University of Health Sciences with a DVM degree in 2024. Following veterinary school, Dr. Norris underwent a rotating equine internship at Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center focused in equine emergency/critical care medicine, lameness, surgery, reproduction, internal medicine, farm calls, and wellness care.
His passions include surgery, equine emergency medicine, equine lameness, small animal emergency medicine, small animal wellness, and livestock medicine.
Dr. Norris enjoys sports and spending time outside hiking, grilling, or at the lake where you might catch him enjoying a ride on his paddle board or jet ski.
Brittani has been with a part of the Hope Animal Clinic Team since 2014. She has made it her goal to lead the best team in the veterinary field that can provide genuine, quality compassion and care to every animal that enters the facility. She has been in the veterinary field since 2005, so don't be too surprised if you see her in different parts of the hospital helping out to ensure each client and pet is taken care of.
